Warning signs: ten things you can see without depositing
Most warnings about new casinos are about gut feeling. These are not. Every one of the ten below can be looked up, counted or read in writing before you open an account.
A new casino cannot be judged on experience, because there is none. It can be judged on what exists from the first day: the paperwork, the cashier and the texts. Ten checks, in the order that takes least time.
The licence and the company
1. The certificate does not name the domain. The most serious of the ten. A permission covers the addresses printed on it. The procedure is on check the licence.
2. The company at the foot is not the one in the register. Two different names mean the complaints route leads somewhere other than you think.
3. The licence badge is an image with no link. A real badge leads to the issuer's register. An image leads nowhere, and it takes four seconds to copy from another site.
One warning sign can be sloppiness in a start-up phase. Several on the same site are a pattern.
The terms
4. The terms carry no date. Without a date of the latest change you cannot know what you agreed to, and you cannot see whether it was changed afterwards.
5. No withdrawal cap is stated. Not because there is none, but because it is then written somewhere else, and that somewhere is usually support's reply on the day you win.
6. The bonus terms are missing one of the five numbers. Multiplier, what it is calculated on, maximum bet, game contribution, deadline. If one is missing the offer has not been finished — see bonus.
The cashier
7. The deposit page does not name the network. In a crypto cashier the network is the one thing that cannot be undone. A site that does not write it plainly has not thought the cashier through — see payments.
8. The minimum withdrawal is higher than the minimum deposit. An amount can go in but not come out again. It is not illegal; it is simply worth knowing before you put the smallest amount in.
The place itself
9. Support does not answer a concrete question. Try it before you open an account: ask what the withdrawal cap is, in kroner. An answer with a number is good information. An answer with a friendly paraphrase is information too.
10. The texts are machine-translated. A casino that has not paid for a Danish proofread has not paid for Danish-speaking support either. It says nothing about the withdrawals, but it says something about how much the market means to the operator.
What is not a warning sign
Three things get used as warnings although they are not:
- A young domain. It means «unknown», not «bad». See
- A licence from Curaçao or Anjouan. These are the ordinary permissions
outside the EU, and they say something about how thorough the register is, not about whether the operator pays.
- A large bonus. The size is marketing. The terms are the matter.
- That the site is not in Danish. Danish-language content is one of the six
