Verification: why it arrives exactly when you want the money out

Verification is not a suspicion about you. It is the check an operator has to make at some point, and the only thing that changes without a Danish licence is when. That moment is usually the worst one imaginable: when the money is going out.

The three documents

Photo ID. Passport or driving licence. The whole document has to be in the picture, including all four corners and the machine-readable strip at the bottom if there is one. A cropped corner is the single most common cause of a rejection.

Proof of address. A utility bill, a bank statement or a letter from a public authority, no more than three months old, with your name and your address in the same image. A screenshot from online banking that does not show the address does not count.

Proof of the payment method. For a card: a picture with the middle digits covered and the last four visible. For a bank transfer: a statement where your transfer can be seen. For crypto: usually nothing, because the deposit address already ties the transaction to the account.

Three documents, once. Most rejections are caused by a cropped edge or an out-of-date document, not by suspicion.

How to get it through on the first attempt

Four things that between them remove most rejections:

1. Photograph it, do not scan it. A flat scanned document without edges is

rejected more often than a picture taken from above with the whole document in frame.

1. Check the date before you send. «No more than three months» counts from

the document's date, not from today.

1. Use the same name everywhere. The name on the account, on the document

and on the payment method has to match. A middle name that appears in only one of the three is enough for another round.

1. Send everything at once. Processing starts over with each new document,

so three submissions are three waits.

What triggers an extra check

Beyond the ordinary verification there are checks that only start when something stands out. They are not secret: they are in the terms, usually in the section about the correctness of the account.

• A withdrawal far above what the account usually moves.
• Depositing by one route and requesting a withdrawal by another.
• Two accounts from the same household, the same device or the same card.
• A bonus wagered in a pattern the terms call abuse, often stakes above the

bonus maximum — see bonus.

None of them fires at random. All four can be avoided by reading the terms once, before the first deposit.

The order that saves the most time

Send the documents before you request a withdrawal. Many operators accept them at any time, and an account that is already approved turns the first withdrawal into what all the later ones are: a request, an approval window and a transfer.
